This cyclist-friendly hotel is situated at the foot of the Waldstein Mountain in Zell, where you will find the start of the hiking and cycling trail the “Saaleradwanderweg”. Our guesthouse has been family-run since 1831 and was mentioned in the book “The Picturesque Banks of the Saale” by professor W. Münnich, written in 1844. Guests can look forward to modern guestrooms and a pretty garden with a sunbathing lawn and children’s’ playground.

In the town of Zell you will find a large heated swimming pool, tennis courts, fishing and a gliding airfield, from where you can take air tours of the area. Zell also makes the ideal base for short or long hikes in and around the Fichtel Mountains. Here you will find the original source of the River Saale as well as Waldstein Mountain with its castle ruins, a beautiful look-out point as well as the Bärenfang building, formerly used for catching bears. The peaceful surrounding area is also suitable for relaxing strolls in summer and through the snowy winter wonderland.
